QORU is headed by Professor Julian Forder (University of Kent / LSE) and a directorate team including Dr José Luis Fernández (LSE) and Professor Ray Fitzpatrick (University of Oxford). This team meets regularly and is responsible for the coordination and management of projects, ensuring quality control (e.g. through the adherence to procedures for ethics and governance approval and data security), identifying opportunities for added value through links with other research, and generating additional funding to sustain and enhance the development of the Unit. The Directorate also supports the Director in setting the strategic direction for the Unit, its research activities, communications strategy, financial management, and responsiveness to DH needs, and at site level, for ensuring that staff are aware of the direction of the work for the overall programme, the procedures and Unit policies.
